- Children living with HIV (CLHIV) in Türkiye had a low meningococcal carriage rate (3.8%) with non-groupable strains, compared to healthy controls (8.9%).
- Pneumococcal carriage in CLHIV (28.7%) was similar to controls (23.9%), with a majority (65.2%) being PCV13 serotypes.
- Longer time since the last PCV13 dose was associated with lower pneumococcal carriage, and vaccinated siblings showed a borderline protective effect.
- The study supports sustained vaccination in at-risk groups, household-level immunization, and continued molecular surveillance for CLHIV.
