Study investigates survival rates and predictors after fetoscopic laser surgery (FLS) for early-onset twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).
Included 485 cases of early-onset TTTS treated with FLS, with dual-twin survival at 51.5% and survival of at least one twin at 76.7%.
Key predictors of decreased dual-twin survival: absent/reversed end-diastolic flow in donor umbilical artery and absent/reversed a-wave in donor ductus venosus.
Higher gestational age at birth associated with increased odds of survival for both dual twins and at least one twin.
Model for dual-twin survival showed modest discriminative performance with poor overall fit.
Future studies should explore the impact of surgical technique on survival rates.
