  • A reduction in BMI z score by at least 0.25 was associated with reduced risks of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, with similar benefits for both MHO and MUO.
  • The findings suggest that obesity treatment should be recommended for all children with obesity, regardless of their initial metabolic status.
