- A longitudinal study was conducted within the PREDIMED trial, analyzing plasma metabolites at baseline and 1-year follow-up using LC-MS/MS.
- 31 metabolites were associated with T2D, and 105 with HOMA-IR. Both profiles were linked to higher total mortality risk (T2D HR = 1.52; HOMA-IR HR = 1.33).
