- Update Windows 7 using Simplix patcher and reboot.
- Install .NET Framework 4.8.0 (not 4.8.1) and reboot.
- Update DirectX9 and install Visual C++ 2005-2022, then reboot.
- Download and extract DirectX12 compatibility layer files to System32 and reboot.
- Run Simplix patcher again for additional updates and reboot.
- Resolve DXGI.DLL error by using a modified version from Reshade.
- Rename RESHADE64.DLL to DXGI.DLL and place it in Vegas 22's folder.
- Alternative naming: Use D3D11.DLL instead of DXGI.DLL if needed.
- Use a script to terminate lingering processes after closing Vegas 22.
