- GRB 221009A was the brightest gamma-ray burst ever recorded, detected on 9 October 2022.
- Its brightness was partly due to its close proximity to Earth (z∼0.15).
- The burst triggered follow-up observations across all wavebands, including very-high-energy gamma rays with LST-1.
- LST-1 observations started about one day after the prompt emission, under strong moonlight conditions.
- A hint of a signal with a statistical significance of about 4σ was detected.
- Monitoring continued until the end of November 2022, making it the deepest GRB observation campaign with LST-1.
