  • Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is a non-thermal method for treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF).
  • This study compared the incidence of silent cerebral lesions (SCL) between PFA and radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA).
  • SCL incidence was 12.90% in the PFA group vs. 6.45% in the RFCA group, but the difference was not statistically significant.
  • Risk factors for SCL included larger left atrium dimension, longer left atrial operation time, and prolonged total operation time.
  • The study suggests the need for larger trials to evaluate the cerebral safety of PFA due to the numerically higher SCL rate.
