- C-reactive protein-triglyceride-glucose index (CTI) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular (CV) mortality in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS).
- The study analyzed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2010, with mortality follow-up through 2019.
- Each 1-unit increase in CTI was associated with a 32% higher risk of CV mortality (HR = 1.32; 95% CI: 1.07-1.62; P = .010).
- Patients in the highest quartile of CTI had significantly higher CV mortality (HR = 1.60; 95% CI: 1.13-2.25; P = .007).
- The findings suggest CTI may help identify high-risk individuals for early prevention of CV mortality in MetS patients.
