- Microsoft 365 now enables auto-save to the cloud by default for new Word documents.
- Auto-save helps prevent data loss from crashes or outages.
- Files saved to OneDrive or other cloud services benefit from security, compliance, and easy access.
- Features include real-time syncing, collaboration tools, and AI support via Copilot (license required).
- Currently available in Word for Windows, with Excel and PowerPoint support coming later this year.
