- The study investigates the link between triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and related indicators (TyG-BMI, TyG-WC, TyG-WHtR) and heart failure-related mortality in early-stage cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome.
- Using data from NHANES (2005-2018) with 14,830 participants, TyG-related indices, especially TyG-WC and TyG-WHtR, showed significant associations with increased HF-related mortality, with TyG-WHtR having the strongest predictive ability (AUC = 0.641).
- HbA1c mediated about 15%-30% of the observed associations, and results were consistent across subgroups and robust in sensitivity analyses, highlighting the prognostic role of insulin resistance-related metabolic burden in early CKM syndrome.
