- Microsoft released linux-msft-wsl-6.18.20.1, upgrading the WSL2 kernel to Linux 6.18 LTS series from the previous 6.6 LTS.
- The upgrade allows removal of out-of-tree patches, including for VirtIO PMEM support, compared to the Linux 6.6 base.
- New kernel configuration enables support for F2FS and ExFAT file-systems, ANON_VMA_NAME, CAN options, joystick interface, USB monitor, and FAT support on ARM64 builds.
