  • Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a common adverse effect in cancer patients.
  • A systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the incidence and influencing factors of CIPN.
  • 23 studies with 15,090 cases were included, identifying 16 influencing factors.
  • The incidence of CIPN in cancer patients was found to be 56% (95% CI: 46-66%).
  • Key influencing factors included age ≥50, BMI ≥24 or ≥30, anxiety/depression, hypertension, diabetes, cumulative chemotherapy dose, taxane chemotherapy, vitamin D deficiency, high cholesterol, and transaminase elevation.
  • Clinicians are advised to screen for CIPN early to improve clinical outcomes and patient quality of life.
