About Hasty Briefs

Last updated: 2026-08-01

Hasty Briefs is a bilingual technology news digest. We follow the stories developers and technologists are discussing, condense each one into a short list of key points in both English and Chinese, and link straight back to the original source.

What we do

A large amount of technology news is published and discussed every day, and reading all of it is not realistic. Hasty Briefs is built to make the triage step fast: each story is reduced to a handful of factual key points, so you can decide in seconds whether the original is worth your time.

Every brief links directly to its source article. We are meant to be a starting point for reading, not a replacement for it.

Where our stories come from

Our pipeline monitors public technology news sources — primarily Hacker News, along with open source project releases and biotechnology news feeds. Stories are grouped into channels (Tech, GitHub and Biotech) that you can switch between from the channel menu.

Hasty Briefs is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hacker News, Y Combinator, GitHub, or any of the publications we link to. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

How the summaries are made

Each summary is generated by a large language model that reads the source article and extracts its key points. The English and Chinese versions are produced independently rather than machine-translated from one another, so each reads naturally in its own language.

A story is only published once both language versions exist. Turning on Bilingual mode shows the other language alongside the one you are reading, which makes the site useful for following English-language technology news in Chinese and vice versa.

AI summarization is not perfect. A summary can flatten nuance or, occasionally, misstate a detail. Treat it as a pointer to the source rather than as the record itself — our Disclaimer covers this in full.

What the site offers

  • Full-text search across every published brief
  • Topic tags with a browsable tag index
  • Related stories suggested at the bottom of each brief
  • A free account that lets you save favorites and attach private notes to them

Who runs Hasty Briefs

Hasty Briefs is built and operated by int2inf.com, a small independent team working on information tooling. The site is in beta and under active development, which means features and layout still change from time to time.
