- JDK 27 is the Reference Implementation of Java SE Platform version 27, specified by JSR 402.
- Features and schedule were proposed and tracked via the JEP Process, amended by JEP 2.0.
- JDK 27 reached General Availability on 15 September 2026.
- Production-ready binaries under GPL are available from Oracle; other vendors will follow.
- Schedule milestones include Rampdown Phase One on 2026/06/04, Phase Two on 2026/07/16, Release Candidate Phase on 2026/08/06, Release Candidate Build on 2026/08/20, and General Availability on 2026/09/15.
