- EDG's C++ front-end source will go public on September 30, 2026, with The C++ Alliance becoming its nonprofit home, ensuring continuity and professional maintenance.

- Development will follow three tracks: community contributions via pull requests, ongoing maintenance by Alliance developers, and collectively funded larger features.
- The Fiscal Sponsorship Committee (FSC), chaired by John Spicer, will oversee all development tracks and include volunteers from the EDG user community.
- Under the new open source model, source code will be public on GitHub, funding will come from tax-deductible contributions, and there is no lock-in.
- EDG users can get involved now by reviewing the fiscal sponsorship agreement, providing feedback on FSC composition and development priorities, and joining the #edgcpp Slack channel.
