What I did at Recurse Center
- Participated in study groups including Agentic Adventures (LLM agents), Practical Deep Learning (neural networks), Math Monday, and reverse engineering a board game AI.
- Completed the dodo mini language, implementing recursive match statement and using LLMs for specs and tests.
- Implemented the DEFLATE compression algorithm (LZ77 + Huffman codes) in Rust with a partner, creating a decompressor.
- Engaged in extensive pairing on projects like SAT solver for sudoku, Game of Life, Mastermind, and a magit view for Emacs.
- Vibecoded multiple mini projects including a rhythm game, fantasy map generator, word guessing game (Just One) with LLMs, and a diplomacy game.
- Built a constructed language (conlang) using cross-linguistic data from PHOIBLE and APiCS, focusing on universal phonology and intuitive grammar.
- Created an Emacs mode for listing vibecoding sessions and used LLMs to build improvements to the author's website.
- Experimented with 3D printing a candle holder and pen plotter drawings (Go game snapshot, Hilbert curves).
- Attended board game nights, taught Go, and visited the Gowanus Go club.
- Appreciated other Recursers' projects like photo studio with aura, pen plotter art, active decoration, e-ink game console, receipt printer exquisite corpse, and RCade games.
- Wrote a 'Return Statement' reflection on the RC experience.
