The "Windows XP Box" (2003)

- Built a small Windows XP computer inside a Windows XP cardboard box using a Nehemiah EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX board.
- The box dimensions are 243mm x 200mm x 48mm; internal tolerances were extremely tight (3-6mm spare).
- Required internal CD drive, no cutting of motherboard, no bulging, and safe operation without overheating.
- Created an inner support case from Wonderboard plastic to hold all components securely.
- Arranged components in a 3D jigsaw: CD drive touching heat sink, hard drive under motherboard, PSU above hard drive.
- Added fans in opposite corners with a duct to draw cool outside air directly to the CPU fan.
- Fan guards were cut from a metal speaker grill using an angle grinder.
