Over 23,000 Pebble Time 2 watches have been produced since late March, with over 80% of pre-orders fulfilled. Remaining pre-orders will ship by late July for different colors.
Pebble software updates have significantly improved battery life; Pebble 2 Duo now lasts over 30 days, and Pebble Time 2 around 21 days. New SDK features include Touch Screen API, Speaker API, and Alloy for native JS apps.
Index 01 functionality is now available in the Pebble mobile app, with features like syncing to iOS Reminders, Obsidian, and Google Tasks. Production has started, aiming to ship most pre-orders by end of August.
Reported issues with Pebble Time 2 include software bugs (inaccurate step tracking, accelerometer/touch screen failures) and hardware problems (high power consumption, touch panel issues, glass cracking). Free replacements are offered for hardware issues.
Pebble Round 2 production was delayed due to cosmetic issues but is now on track to start mass production in late July. All pre-orders (around 14,000) are expected to ship by end of September.
The software roadmap includes upcoming features like a send text app (Android only), find my phone, a new weather app, and improvements to enable notification replies for iOS users in the EU.
