China's Ubtech Opens Plant Making a Humanoid Robot Every 10 Minutes

- A new smart factory in Liuzhou, China, operated by UBTECH, is the world's first plant capable of producing over 10,000 industrial humanoid robots per year, or one every 10 minutes.
- The plant uses robots and driverless vehicles to build robots, producing the Walker S and Cruzr series, with Siemens Digital Industries Software involved in its construction.
- The facility spans 14,000 square meters and is 13.8 meters tall; robots handle material unloading, stacking, transport, collaborative assembly, and each finished robot undergoes over four hours of quality testing.
- UBTECH developed a fully automated 3D warehouse holding 112 robots in 65 square meters, increasing space utilization by more than 50%, supported by smart logistics including AGVs and unmanned forklifts.
- UBTECH says the factory moves humanoid robots from pilot production to large-scale smart manufacturing, crediting China's strong supply chain, engineering talent, and rich application scenarios for enabling mass production while maintaining cost advantages.
- China's industrial robot output is rising sharply: monthly output reached 98,677 units in July, up 30.2% year-on-year, and January–July production totaled 635,056 units, up 28.5%.
- Data infrastructure for robot training is expanding: the RoboMIND dataset surpassed 20 million downloads, and a Beijing Innovation Center facility of about 6,000 square meters has supplied roughly 30,000 hours of high-quality robot data.
- The Beijing center reproduces more than 30 real-world environments and collects data using over 150 robots and 40 robot configurations to support training.
- Chinese robots have entered the global first tier, according to UBTECH, with mass production inseparable from China's component supply chain.
