- A 1,600-year-old Roman-era mummy from Oxyrhynchus, Egypt, contained a papyrus fragment of Homer's Iliad's 'Catalogue of Ships' in Book II.
- This marks the first archaeological evidence of a Greek literary text intentionally used in the mummification process, previously only magical or ritual texts were found.
- The discovery was made by the University of Barcelona's Oxyrhynchus Archaeological Mission during excavations in late 2025 and early 2026.
