- Streams are the main priority for the developer, with core implementation finished and merged into the unstable branch.
- Consumer groups specification was finalized and implementation is halfway, with XREADGROUP and XACK commands now available.
- Remaining work includes completing all command implementations, blocking operations for XREADGROUP, and handling replication, RDB, and AOF persistence.
- RDB format will change significantly to support consumer groups and key access info, leading to Streams being part of Redis 5.0 instead of 4.0.
- Redis 5.0 GA is expected in about two months, containing only Streams and RDB changes on top of 4.0.
- Documentation for Streams will be written during the RC1 phase, which is about one month away.
