- Purja made history in 2019 by climbing all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters in just over six months and later led the first team to summit K2 in winter.
- The expedition included climbers from Nepal, the US, Pakistan, Oman, China, and another foreign climber, with victims including Nadhira Alharthy (first Omani to climb Everest) and US climber Mallory Geis.
